Owner/Chef – Zahir Miha
Opening Bollywood Grill is making a dream come true for chef/owner Zahir Miha.
Zahir came to Pleasantville in July 2009 to work in Bollywood Bistro. Having fallen in love with Pleasantville and Bollywood customers, it broke his heart when Bollywood Bistro closed in September 2012. Promising himself he would return one day and reopen Bollywood, he went back to working in Manhattan.
Zahir briefly returned to open Bhog for the new owner. He served the Clintons in that period. He left Bhog due to creative differences with the owner. He then continued to successfully turn a number of businesses around for some New Jersey Indian restaurant owners.
As soon as Zahir found out the Bollywood space would be available to lease, he started the process of becoming a business owner and making his dream come true.
Having been separated from his family for many years, Zahir tries to make every person he feeds feel as though they are a part of his family. Once the restaurant opens and settles down, he will reunite with his family.
Nothing makes Zahir happier than feeding favorite dishes to each person’s particular preferences. Having a huge repertoire of specialties of the Indian subcontinent, Zahir is ready to feed his Pleasantville family again.
Minor Owner – Anwar Shadat
Anwar Shadat also worked in the former Bollywood Bistro to apprentice and train with Zahir. He went on to open, with other partners, two restaurants in Brooklyn, NY. He always liked Pleasantville so was happy to join with Zahir with Bollywood Grill.
